Although we want you to have fun at our schools, your safety is of prime
importance to us. Here is what you need to do, to participate in our High
Performance Driving School...
Your Vehicle
- Must have a qualified mechanic perform a technical inspection (preferably within three weeks prior to the event) and fill out this Tech Inspection Form. Have the mechanic sign and date the form and then sign and date the waiver portion of the form.
- Must have had it's brake fluid replaced within 90 days of the event.
- Must have equivalent Safety equipment for both the driver and instructor.
- Must have a minimum of three point seat belts, securely anchored.
- Must not be an open wheel vehicle.
- Must meet BMW CCA's Driving School Minimum Standards (Operations Manual section 3.5, paragraph 2.87), if it is a convertible.
- Must be cleared of all loose items in the interior of the vehicle before the pre-event technical spot check and track sessions.
- SUV, SAV, Minivans, and other special vehicles: Contact Mark Viola prior to registering for the event.
You
- Must be 18 years old or older and have a valid current license.
- Must wear a Snell 2000 or newer helmet. This certification (M00, SA00, M2000, SA2000, M05, SA05, M2005, SA2005, M2010) must be visible. Please note: 2010 is the last year M/SA 2000 helmets are acceptable.
- Must wear long sleeve shirt and long pants. Avoid polyester clothing.
- Cannot wear red or yellow outer clothing or have a red or yellow umbrella, while performing flagging duties.
- Will need to provide us with your driving experience at registration (expressed in days) at local tracks, including NHMS, Lime Rock Park, Mont Tremblant, Watkins Glen, and any other applicable experience.
- Must attend our Advanced Driving Skills school (at additional cost) if you have never attended a similar event at a track. There is also an exemption if you live more than 90 miles from NHMS, or the ADS school is sold out and you sign up for the following ADS school before your next track day.
- Must sign the Tech Inspection Form waiver section and present it at the technical spot check that occurs the morning of the event (only for the first day, if you attend more than one day in a multi-day event). Failure to present a completed form or failure to pass the spot check will disqualify you from participation in the event and your entry fee will be forfeited.
- Are solely responsible for insuring that your vehicle is safe, before you come to the track.
- Will be required to sign a NHMS Insurance waiver at the entrance to the track (included here for your reference).
- You must fill out a Medical form, which provides your medical information to rescue personnel at the race-track, should your incur personal injury or suffer from illness while participating in the event. This form will be given to medical personnel before driving begins and will be shredded as soon as possible after the event.
- Should check your automotive insurance policy to be familiar with your coverage for on-track driving schools.
- Should read the Driving School Curriculum and the Flagging Manual, prior to attending the event.
- Must attend the classroom sessions. Failure to do so will result in loss of driving privileges.
