Although we want you to have fun at our schools, your safety is of prime
importance to us. Here is what you need to do, to participate in our High
Performance Driving School...
Your Vehicle
- Must have a qualified mechanic perform a technical inspection (preferably within three weeks prior to the event) and fill out this Tech Inspection Form. Have the mechanic sign and date the form and then sign and date the waiver portion of the form.
- Brake fluid must be replaced within 90 days of the event.
- Must have equivalent Safety equipment for both the driver and instructor.
- Must have a minimum of three point seat belts, securely anchored.
- Convertibles must have a roll bar and five or six point safety belts, and must meet National's requirements. Please contact us to verify that your car is compliant. Convertibles with pop-up and hoop roll bars are not permitted.
- Open cars must pass the pre-event technical spot check. If we cannot find an instructor that is willing to accompany you and you are not approved for solo driving, your entry fee will be refunded. It is recommended that you have the DEC approve the car, before the event.
- Be sure to clear out all loose items from the interior of the vehicle, before the pre-event technical spot check and track sessions.
- SUV, SAV, Minivans, and other special vehicles...?
You
- Must be 18 years old or older and have a valid current license.
- Must wear a Snell 2000 or newer helmet. This certification (M00, SA00, M2000, SA2000, M05, SA05, M2005, SA2005) must be visible.
- Must wear long sleeve shirt and long pants. Avoid polyester clothing.
- Cannot wear red or yellow outer clothing or have a red or yellow umbrella, while performing flagging duties.
- Will need to provide us with your driving experience at registration (expressed in days) at local tracks, including NHMS, Lime Rock Park, Mont Tremblant, Watkins Glen, and any other applicable experience.

- Must sign the Tech Inspection Form waiver section and present it at the technical spot check that occurs the morning of the event (only for the first day, if you attend more than one day in a multi-day event). Failure to present a completed form or failure to pass the spot check will disqualify you from participation in the event and your entry fee will be forfeited.
- Are solely responsible for insuring that your vehicle is safe, before you come to the track.
- Will be required to sign a NHMS Insurance waiver at the entrance to the track (included here for your reference).
- May choose to fill out a optional Medical form, which provides rescue personnel at the racetrack to have your medical information available should your incur personal injury or suffer from illness while participating in the event. This form will be given to medical personnel before driving begins and will be shredded at the conclusion of the event.
- Should check your automotive insurance policy to be familiar with your coverage for on-track driving schools.
- Should read the Driving School Curriculum and the Flagging Manual, prior to attending the event.
